Appliqué: A surface pattern made by cutting out fabric or lace designs and attaching them to another fabric by means of embroidery or stitching.Button-Down Collar: Is a collar that is usually narrow, that buttons over the tie. Not suitable for more formal occasions.Cuff:A turned-up hem, as found at the bottom of the leg on trousers.Cuff link, Cufflink or Cuff-link: Is a decorative fastener used to fasten or link the two portions of a french cuff, typically on a shirt or blouse.Cummerbund: Is a broad waist sash, usually pleated, which is often worn with black tie. Cut-away Collar: Is a collar that is more cut away towards the shoulder - the degree varies. Embroidery: Ornamental needlework or trimming using silk, cotton, metallic, or other threads.French cuff or double cuff : Is a cuff on a dress shirt which is folded back and then closed with cuff links or silk knots, instead of buttons. Lycra® spandex: A stretchable, comfortable, man-made material that may be combined with other fibers, such as cotton or nylon, to make a garment.Pleat: A fold of fabric generally pressed flat, allowing for extra room in a garment.Shirt or dress shirt: A shirt with collar and full vertical opening with buttonsSingle Cuff (technically Barrel Cuffs): These cuffs are the norm found on dress shirts. They overlap each other and button to stay.Taper: To become gradually narrower, as in trouser' legs that are narrower at the ankle than at the knee.Tint: A light wash of colour, usually pale or delicate.Twill: A strong fabric with diagonal ridges.Welt Pocket: A pocket sewn shut just beneath its opening, such as the front outer pocket on a man's suit jacket.Windsor Collar: is very cut away collar, originaly to complement the Windsor tie knot.Wrinkle-Resistant: Fabric that does not require ironing after machine-washing and drying.
